Feeding seven grown dragons would wipe their food stores in a few days. Angie sat at the kitchen counter on her regular stool and finished her online grocery order. “This is a huge order. I should have them deliver.”

Eoin stood at the sink, arms up to the elbows in soapy dishwater. “Absolutely not. I can’t guarantee their safety.” He handed a cleaned dish to his sister who dried and stored it away. “I’ll go pick it up myself.”

“Can I go with you?” asked Bella.

Eoin gave her a slow blink. “Sure…”

“Don’t look at me like that.” She elbowed him in the side. “I can’t remember the last time I visited a city.”

“Well, we’re not going all the way into New Port,” said Angie. “Just one of the suburbs.”

Now that brother and sister stood next to each other, Angie could see a hint of similarity in the cheekbones and eyes. The only resemblance Eoin held with his brothers were their builds. All of them were tall with wide shoulders and lean hips. The twins had more muscle bulk and Omar seemed edgier, as if he burned off every ounce of fat.

Eoin shook his head while concentrating on washing the stack of dishes. “We’re not going anywhere. You’re staying here to rest. You look exhausted.”

Angie scanned her social media. He would be exhausted too if his in-laws had arrived early with them completely unprepared to house or feed them. Jeez, the males had been forced to dine standing while she and the other two females had taken the stools. Mentally, she reminded herself to find a table and chairs. “The order will be ready the day after tomorrow.”

He stopped scrubbing a pot and tossed her a confused glance.

She shrugged. “It’s a big order.”

“What the hell did you buy?”

“Cows.” She laughed and held up three fingers. “Can you imagine? I didn’t know it was possible to ask for whole cows.”

Eoin raised an eyebrow. “Did you buy anything else?”

“Well, yeah. I’m sure there’s a salad in there and some Pop Tarts.”

“Ah, yes, the sacred indigestible biscuits of doom.” He shook his head.

“I also bought beer and pork rinds.”

“I knew there was a reason I mated you.”

“Bella and I can pick up the groceries with the truck. It should be big enough to hold everything. You finish working on the nest. It’s not like I have to do any heavy lifting. They carry it straight to the vehicle.”

“You’re not going out in public without protection.” He scrubbed a pot again as if the fate of the world depended on it.

Bella sighed. “You are just like the others. What can possibly happen between here and the grocery store, especially since we won’t be leaving the truck? This will give me and Angie some time to get to know each other. And, I can protect her.”

Angie leaned her chin on her hand and smiled at his sister. “Yeah, what she said.”

“That double-teaming crap won’t work on me.” He gestured to Bella with his thumb and glared at Angie. “She knows nothing about the paparazzi or the city’s Angie fan club.
